Disney's New Haunted Mansion Blind Boxes Have Arrived

The air around the Haunted Mansion has always felt a little thicker than the rest of the park. Now that same presence is traveling home in three-inch vinyl form. New mystery blind boxes featuring six of the attraction’s most recognizable residents have just appeared at Disney Springs, Disneyland Resort, and on Disney Store, each one sealed in packaging that looks as though it was peeled straight from the mansion’s damask wallpaper.

Open one and you might meet Constance Hatchaway, bouquet in hand and five husbands behind her. You might find the Hatbox Ghost himself, head and body forever trading places. Or Harriet, the Opera Singer, mid-note and impossible to ignore. The remaining three slots belong to the classic Hitchhiking Ghosts—Phineas, Gus, and Ezra—the ones who have been sliding into Doom Buggies and asking for a ride since 1969. Every figure stands on a purple base, green-skinned, dressed in white or black with deep-purple accessories, and detailed enough that the little sculpt of the Hatbox Ghost’s vanishing head still feels slightly wrong in the best way.

Each box is pure chance. Disney is selling them for $9.99 with the usual collector rules: no returns, no exchanges, equal odds. At Disney Springs they turned up first at Mystery Drop Shop inside the Marketplace Co-Op. On the West Coast they’re sitting in the newly villains-themed Disney Storyland Boutique in Downtown Disney. Online they ship in pairs, which feels intentional—once one ghost crosses the threshold, most people immediately want another.

What makes the set interesting for anyone who pays attention to the mansion’s quieter corners is how carefully the characters were chosen. These aren’t random happy haunts. Constance carries the mansion’s oldest and most repeated tragedy. The Hatbox Ghost is the one who disappeared for decades and then returned, head still floating between body and box. The Hitchhiking Ghosts have always been the ones who follow guests out of the ride and into the real world. Putting them in blind boxes is almost too on-the-nose: you do not know who is coming home with you until the tape is cut.

Collectors are already comparing notes on which figure feels heaviest in the hand and which one looks most likely to turn its head when the lights go down. The purple packaging itself has become part of the display—some people are keeping the boxes intact, wallpaper pattern facing out, because the outside already looks like a tiny piece of the stretching room.

If you have ever lingered in the exit corridor just to hear the ghosts keep talking, these little figures understand the assignment.

They are small enough for a desk or altar, detailed enough to reward a second look, and random enough that the mansion decides who arrives.

At the moment they are still easy to find. That rarely lasts once the Halloween crowds notice a new way to take a ghost home.
