Eyewitness Statement:

"I was standing outside in my backyard that night letting my dog go to the bathroom. My yard was perfect for looking up at the stars as it was open and unobstructed view because I lived on a golf course off of Indian School Road. My dog was taking her good sweet time so we were out there for a long time.

I was looking up at the sky for shooting stars, which I would see often when something very large appeared. It was this very large, V-shaped or triangular object moving kind of slow across the sky over the city of Phoenix.

I am not the best with measurements but I would say it was about a mile wide. It had several bright, steady lights arranged in a chevron pattern along its leading edge. It was so big that it was blocking out stars as it passed overhead, so I knew it was a solid structure. There's no way you would miss this thing if you were outside that night. It lasted several minutes overhead where I stood still in amazement and a bit frightened.

I was so startled and scared that I ran back into my house and made a long distance phone call to my grandmother. This was back when you had to pay by the minute for long distance phone calls!"
