The Bermuda Triangle: Supernatural or Something Else?

Updated: May 8

At ParaHouse, we dive into the mysteries that captivate the human imagination—cases of disappearances that defy logic and spark endless speculation.

From the infamous Bermuda Triangle to the ghostly Mary Celeste and lesser known vanishings, these stories blend eerie intrigue with tantalizing clues. Are these

incidents the work of supernatural forces, interdimensional rifts, or something far more mundane?

Let’s explore The Bermuda Triangle and then later we will dive into some more famous cases in later posts that will examine the wildest conspiracy theories,

and weigh them against grounded explanations.

The Bermuda Triangle: A Vortex of Vanishing

The Bermuda Triangle, a loosely defined region in the Atlantic Ocean bounded by Miami, Bermuda, and San Juan, Puerto Rico, is synonymous with mystery. Over the centuries, countless ships and planes have vanished within its 500,000 to 1,500,000 square miles, often without a trace.

Notable cases include:

  • Flight 19 (1945): A squadron of five U.S. Navy bombers disappeared during a training mission, with no wreckage ever conclusively found. The rescue plane sent after them also vanished.

  • SS Cyclops (1918): A Navy cargo ship carrying 306 crew members disappeared

  • en route from Barbados to Baltimore, leaving no distress signal or debris.

Mainstream Media Say "Conspiracy Theories" on:

  • Alien Abductions: Some speculate extraterrestrials use the Triangle as a cosmic hunting ground, snatching vessels for study.

  • Interdimensional Portals: The region might be a gateway to another dimension, swallowing ships and planes into alternate realities.

  • Sea Monsters: Legends of krakens or other massive creatures persist, dragging vessels to the ocean’s depths.

Possible Explanations:

  • Environmental Factors: The Triangle lies in a region prone to sudden, violent storms and rogue waves. The Gulf Stream can swiftly disperse debris, leaving little evidence.

  • Human Error: Poor navigation, especially in the pre-GPS era, could lead to ships and planes becoming lost or running out of fuel.

  • Methane Hydrates: Underwater methane gas eruptions could reduce water density, causing ships to sink rapidly, or disrupt aircraft engines.

ParaHouse’s Take:

While we lean towards the alien abductions and portals theories because let's face it, they are more tantalizing and since the mainstream media says "it's fake" then it's probably more real than not, but some of the explanation may lie in the Triangle’s magnetic field and unpredictable weather, which make natural explanations more plausible. Also methane hydrate eruptions, though rare, offer a scientifically intriguing possibility for sudden sinkings.

Our final conclusion is that it's a combination of all the above.
